 The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a professional women's soccer league in the United States. The NWSL was established in 2012 and officially kicked off its inaugural season in 2013. As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the NWSL had ten teams. The NWSL has been a pioneer in advocating for equal playing standards and treatment for female athletes.
